Forrest Boughner

About

Forrest Boughner started Alpine Running Guides as a way to share his passion for running, and trail running in the mountains. He grew up building tree forts at the base of a 12,000′ mountain and has been enthralled by outdoor challenges since then. Forrest ran competitively through high school and college and can still be seen near the front of trail races. Since hiking the Continental Divide Trail and moving to Montana, Forrest has dedicated most of his time to exploring trails around the West. He is currently working on a project to summit the highest point in each of the 64 mountain ranges in Montana. The Montana Mountain Project has helped Forrest increase his trail knowledge base throughout Montana by exploring little known parts of the state.

Forrest has over 14 years of coaching experience working with beginning adult runners, triathletes, state championship high school teams, hikers, and ultra runners of all abilities. He has an extensive knowledge base around all aspects of training and loves working with athletes to customize a training plan that works for them. Forrest firmly believes that all athletes are different and individualized training is the best way to reach one's potential. Whatever your goals are Forrest wants to help you meet them, and enjoy the process along the way! Each training plan is created personally by Forrest and is tailored around your busy schedule, injury history, etc.

Forrest is a Missoula based running coach who specializes in trail and mountain running coaching, but got his start running cross country and road races. He approaches training plans with this multi-disciplinary approach to build a plan that works for you.
